Our training region

We serve a population of over 1.6 million people across a large and diverse geographical area.

North Western Queensland offers a vivid mix of people and landscapes – from glorious beaches and mountains, hinterlands, spectacular rainforests, rich farmland, to wide savannah country, wilderness and the red soil of the Australian outback.

The James Cook University General Practice training regional office network delivers training and education that is community-oriented and engaged and connected to issues of relevance to the region.
